And the result? Hard to put into words ....

Red wine made from the variety Tempranillo, sourced from low-yielding old vines (>60 years), estate-grown in vineyards (Carrasanvicente, Carranavarides, El Caño, Murriarte), located in the village of Samaniego, Rioja Alavesa.

After a manual picking, all the grapes are hand-selected, berry per berry, using vibration and selection tables. Long macerations and intracellular fermentations with indigenous yeasts in oak fermenters. Natural extraction by gravity. Malolactic fermentation and 24 months ageing in new French oak barrels.

Vineyards

Several micro-plots (<2 ha) located in the village of Samaniego, Rioja Alavesa, with its typical shallow and stony calcareous clay soils. Average altitude: 650 meters. Vine training system: mainly Gobelet  (bush vine system). Sustainable viticulture with 100% handcraft.

Tasting note

Intensive and dark cherry-red colour. Aromas of fresh black fruits and minerals; spicy and very fresh. Elegant, complex and vivid on the palate. Fine-grained tannins and nice acidity. Very long finish.
